Extended Bump Stops are compression-travel limiters that sit between the axle and the chassis to cap suspension up-travel and cushion the axle against the bump stop platform at full compression.

The extended height reduces usable up-travel relative to standard bump stops, which protects long-travel shock absorbers from over-compression and provides additional clearance so larger-diameter tyres do not contact the wheel arch or bodywork on full bump.

Each stop is a polyurethane element bonded to a steel mounting plate for direct fitment in place of the original rubber bump stop. Supplied as a pair.

Frequently asked questions

What are the TF1020 extended bump stops for?
The TF1020 extended bump stops are compression-travel limiters that sit between the axle and chassis, cushioning the axle at full suspension compression. The extended height reduces up-travel to protect long-travel shock absorbers from over-compression and to stop larger tyres contacting the wheel arch on full bump.
How many bump stops come in this kit?
The TF1020 kit is supplied as a pair, covering both sides of one axle. For a vehicle needing all four corners changed, order two pairs. Each stop is a polyurethane element bonded to a steel mounting plate that fits in place of the original rubber bump stop.
Which Land Rovers do these extended bump stops fit?
The TF1020 extended bump stops fit the Land Rover Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic, typically those running raised or long-travel suspension. They replace the OE rubber bump stops directly, equivalent to Land Rover part numbers ANR4188 and ANR4189.
Why fit extended bump stops instead of standard ones?
Extended bump stops are taller than standard, so they limit suspension up-travel sooner. On a Defender, Discovery 1 or Range Rover Classic with a suspension lift or larger tyres, the extra height protects uprated shocks from bottoming out and keeps tyres clear of the arches. On standard-height suspension they reduce useful travel.
