Tailgate is the rear drop-down tailgate of the body, hinged along its lower edge so it folds down at the back of the vehicle to open the load area and forms a flat loading sill when lowered.
It closes against the rear body aperture and is held by its catches when raised. Replacement restores a sound, correctly aligned rear closure where the original panel has corroded or sustained damage.
