Brake Light Switch mounts on the pedal box and is operated by movement of the brake pedal.

When the pedal is depressed the switch closes the stop-lamp circuit to illuminate the brake lights. The same signal is used to cancel cruise control and to release the gearshift interlock, so a failed switch can prevent these functions as well as the brake lights from working. The companion locknut is BMK1903.
