Adjustable A-Frame Ball Joint for the rear suspension upper link (A-frame) assembly.
The joint sits at the apex of the A-frame and connects the upper link to the fulcrum bracket on the rear axle casing. It locates the axle laterally and at its upper mounting while allowing the axle to roll and articulate relative to the chassis.
This is the adjustable pattern of the fixed upper link ball joint RHF500110. Preload can be set with a hex spanner, so free play that develops in service can be taken up rather than requiring immediate replacement, and a grease nipple is fitted for periodic lubrication. It can be used with standard running gear as well as with raised suspension and cranked trailing links.
Wear at this joint is felt as rear-axle wander, vague rear tracking and a knock from beneath the load area over bumps.
