Frequently asked questions

What does this radiator hose connect?

It's the lower radiator hose that connects the radiator base to the engine's coolant circuit on the Series II/IIA cooling system. It carries coolant from the radiator into the engine block.

Can this hose be used as the top radiator hose too?

Yes, it can be trimmed to fit the top hose position as well, making it a versatile replacement for both the upper and lower radiator connections on applicable models.

Which Land Rover models take this hose?

It fits Series II and IIA models built 1958-1971 with the 2.0 petrol engine. Cross-reference codes 90217274 and BJH 0252 identify the same hose if you're matching against another catalogue.

Why do radiator hoses need replacing?

Rubber radiator hoses perish and crack with age and heat cycling, especially on older Series engines. A soft, swollen, or cracked hose risks a coolant leak or hose failure that can lead to overheating, so replace it if it feels spongy or shows surface cracking.
