Ball Bearing for the transfer box, supporting the output shaft and its output flange.

Fitted in the LT230 and NV225 transfer boxes, the bearing locates the output shaft within the transfer case and provides rotational support for the front and rear output flanges and the centre power take-off drive, so that drive can be transmitted to the front and rear propshafts.

Frequently asked questions

What does the STC1130 transfer box bearing do?
The STC1130 ball bearing supports the output shaft inside the transfer box and provides rotational support for the front and rear output flanges and the centre power take-off drive. It locates the shaft within the case so drive can pass to the front and rear propshafts.
Which transfer boxes and models use the STC1130 bearing?
The STC1130 bearing is fitted in the LT230 and NV225 transfer boxes used on the Defender (1987-2006), Discovery 1, Discovery 2 and Range Rover Classic. Several applications have a VIN break for the front or rear flange position, so check your VIN against the fitment notes.
What are the signs the transfer box output bearing is failing?
A failing transfer box output bearing typically produces a droning or rumbling noise that rises with road speed, and in bad cases play at the output flange. Left unchecked a collapsed bearing can damage the shaft and case, so it's usually renewed as soon as noise or flange movement appears.
Is the STC1130 a standard 6207 bearing?
Yes, the STC1130 cross-references to the standard 6207 bearing designation and is supplied by quality makers such as NTN and SKF. The 6207 is a defined-size deep-groove ball bearing, but match it to your transfer box and VIN rather than the size code alone, as flange positions changed across applications.
