Clutch release fork kit used within the manual transmission clutch release mechanism. The release fork operates in the clutch housing and transfers movement from the clutch release linkage to the release bearing, allowing the clutch pressure plate to disengage when the clutch pedal is actuated. The fork pivots on its mounting point and applies force to the release bearing positioned against the clutch diaphragm spring.

This kit provides the components required to service the clutch release fork assembly within the clutch release mechanism. The release fork forms the mechanical interface between the clutch operating linkage and the release bearing inside the bellhousing of the manual transmission clutch assembly.

This kit includes:
Clutch release fork
Pivot pin / retaining shaft
Retaining clip
Pivot bush
Support bracket
Spring clip
Plastic pivot seat / insert

Frequently asked questions

What does the 576137KIT clutch release fork kit include?
This kit includes the clutch release fork, pivot pin, retaining clip, pivot bush, support bracket, spring clip, and plastic pivot insert needed to service the release mechanism. It doesn't include the release bearing or clutch plate.
What does the clutch release fork do?
The release fork sits inside the clutch bellhousing and transfers movement from the clutch pedal linkage to the release bearing, which pushes against the diaphragm spring to disengage the clutch. It pivots each time the pedal is pressed.
Which Land Rover models use this clutch release fork kit?
This kit fits the Defender 1987-2006 (2.5 diesel and 3.5 V8 petrol manual variants), Discovery 1 1989-1998 (chassis FA393361 to WA799999, V8 petrol manual), Discovery 2 1998-2004, and Range Rover Classic 1986-1994 manual models.
Should the whole kit be replaced even if only the fork has worn?
Yes, these small parts typically wear together and are sold as a kit for that reason. Replacing just the fork while reusing a worn pivot bush or clip commonly leads to premature failure of the release mechanism again.
