Deze pakking dicht de verbinding tussen het kleppendeksel en de cilinderkop af, waardoor wordt voorkomen dat olie uit het kleppenmechanisme ontsnapt. What is the ETC6438 rocker cover gasket used for?

The ETC6438 is the rocker cover gasket for the diesel engine. It seals the joint between the rocker (valve) cover and the cylinder head, keeping engine oil in and contaminants out at the top of the engine. It fits the 2.25L and 2.5L 4-cylinder diesel engines.

Should the rocker cover gasket be replaced when removing the cover?

Replace the rocker cover gasket whenever the cover is removed. Old gaskets harden and won't reseal, causing oil weeps down the side of the engine. Fitting a new ETC6438 each time avoids a repeat leak.
