Frequently asked questions

What is the FRC2872 sealing plug for?
The FRC2872 sealing plug closes the adjustment access aperture in the transmission handbrake drum on the LT95 gearbox. It keeps dirt and moisture out of the drum interior after the handbrake shoes have been adjusted through the hole.
Which vehicles use the FRC2872 handbrake drum plug?
The FRC2872 fits the Land Rover Series 3 (109 Stage 1 V8 and 101 Forward Control) and Range Rover Classic with the LT95 four-speed gearbox. On these models the drum-type transmission handbrake acts on the transfer box output.
Is the FRC2872 sealing plug still available?
The FRC2872 is no longer available once current stock ends, so it's classed as NLA. If you're rebuilding an LT95 transmission handbrake drum, it's worth ordering what you need while stock lasts, as it won't be produced again.
