What is the NTC2726 exhaust Y-pipe?
The NTC2726 is a front exhaust Y-pipe for the Land Rover Defender with the 3.5 litre V8 petrol engine. It's the junction piece that joins both cylinder-bank downpipes into the main exhaust on non-catalyst V8 models.
Does it come with fittings?
It's supplied with two 45mm exhaust clamps for fitting. The Y-pipe connects the two front downpipes to the rest of the system, and the clamps secure those joints.
Which V8 Defenders does it fit?
This Y-pipe fits the 3.5 V8 Defender without a catalyst, up to VIN (V)AA267908. Catalyst-equipped or later V8 models use a different front pipe, so confirm your engine and VIN. It also cross-references to BR 3544.
Why do front exhaust pipes fail?
Front exhaust pipes typically fail through corrosion and blown joints, especially at the Y-junction where heat is highest. Signs include a louder exhaust, a blowing noise from the front, or visible rust. Replacing the Y-pipe restores a sealed system.
