What does the RTC4653 transmission oil screen do?
The RTC4653 oil screen filters automatic transmission fluid inside the ZF 4-speed transmission sump before it's drawn through the pump. It protects the valve body and hydraulic control system from particulate contamination. Fits Defender, Discovery 1 and 2, and Range Rover up to 2001.
When should the oil screen be replaced?
Replace the transmission oil screen whenever you service the automatic transmission fluid and drop the sump. A blocked screen restricts fluid flow and can cause harsh or delayed shifts on the ZF 4-speed gearbox. It's a standard part of an ATF service.
Which vehicles use this oil screen?
