Visco Unit Lager voor de achterste aandrijfas, ter ondersteuning van de visco-koppelingseenheid (VCU) in de vierwielaangedreven aandrijflijn.

Het lager bevindt zich op de aandrijfas naast de visco-koppelingseenheid en houdt deze op zijn plaats zodat deze soepel roteert terwijl de aandrijving via de VCU naar de achteras gaat. Er zit een lager aan elke kant van de koppeling en deze worden normaal gesproken per paar vervangen; een versleten lager uit zich meestal in een gehuil en trillingen van de aandrijflijn onder belasting.

What is the visco unit bearing and what does it do?
The visco unit bearing supports the viscous coupling unit (VCU) on the rear propshaft in the Freelander 1 four-wheel-drive driveline. It locates on the propshaft alongside the VCU and holds it in position so it rotates smoothly while drive passes through the coupling to the rear axle.
How many visco unit bearings are needed?
A bearing sits on each side of the viscous coupling, so two are typically needed and they're normally renewed as a pair. Replacing both at once is usual practice, since a fresh bearing working against a worn one on the other side tends to fail early on the Freelander 1 propshaft.
Does this fit all Freelander 1 models?
This bearing fits the Freelander 1 with all four-cylinder engines. On the 2.5L KV6, it fits from VIN 1A000001 up to 1A344953, so KV6 owners should check their VIN against that range before ordering. Confirming the VIN avoids fitting the wrong bearing to a later car.
