Wheel Nut for the road wheel and hub assembly, securing the road wheel onto the hub studs.

The double-chamfer design is tapered at both ends, so the nut can be fitted from either side. The tapered seat centres the wheel and clamps it against the hub face.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 217361 Double-Chamfer Wheel Nut used for?
The double-chamfer wheel nut (217361) is the original-style road wheel nut for Land Rover Series 1 and Series 2/2A. Both ends are tapered so the nut can be fitted from either side. The chamfered seat centres the wheel on the hub stud and clamps it against the hub face.
Will the 217361 double-chamfer wheel nut fit a Series 3?
No. This nut doesn't fit Series 3. Series 1 and 2/2A use the double-chamfer (tapered both ends) design; the Series 3 uses a single-chamfer nut with a different seating geometry. Fitting the wrong nut risks the wheel not seating correctly on the hub studs.
How many wheel nuts are typically needed for a Series 1 or 2/2A wheel change?
The Series 1 and 2/2A typically use five wheel studs per hub, so typically five nuts are needed per wheel. For all four wheels that's typically 20 nuts. When refitting a spare or replacing corroded nuts, inspect each stud and nut individually before reuse.
