Frequently asked questions

What does this exhaust clamp do?
This exhaust clamp secures a front-pipe slip joint on the V8 exhaust system. It draws the two pipe sections together at the joint, holding the connection gas-tight and stopping it separating under engine movement and exhaust pulsation.
Which vehicles use this exhaust clamp?
This exhaust clamp fits the petrol V8 exhaust on Land Rover Defender from 1987 to 2006, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic, at the front-pipe joint. It's supplied individually, so order the quantity your exhaust layout needs.
Why do exhaust clamps need replacing?
Exhaust clamps typically corrode and seize over time, and the threads often shear when an old joint is disturbed. A clamp that can no longer be drawn up tight lets the slip joint blow, so it's common to fit a fresh clamp whenever the front pipe is separated.
