Frequently asked questions

What is the NRC7608 exhaust clamp plate used for?
The NRC7608 clamp plate secures the rear silencer to its mounting on the Defender 110 and 130, holding the joint tight against exhaust gas leakage and vibration. It's the rear silencer clamp plate for non-TDi engine variants.
Which engines does the NRC7608 clamp plate fit?
The NRC7608 fits Defender 110 and 130 models with the 4-cylinder petrol, 2.5 naturally aspirated diesel, or 2.5 turbo diesel engine. It does not fit TDi engines, which use a different rear exhaust arrangement. Check your engine type before ordering.
How many clamp plates are needed to secure the rear silencer?
Typically one clamp plate secures the rear silencer joint, though it's worth inspecting the accompanying fasteners and rubber mounts at the same time. Exhaust hardware often seizes or corrodes, so replacing it while the system is apart saves a second job.
