Exhaust Olive for the exhaust system.

Frequently asked questions

What is an exhaust olive used for?
The exhaust olive is a tapered sealing ring that fits into the slip joint between two exhaust pipe sections. As the clamp tightens, it compresses against the pipe to form a gas-tight seal at the connection. It's used across the Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic exhaust systems.
How many exhaust olives do I need?
You typically need one olive per slip joint being sealed. A full exhaust replacement can involve several joints, so check how many connections your system has before ordering. A fresh olive is normally fitted at each joint that gets separated.
Can an exhaust olive be reused?
An exhaust olive is typically single-use. It deforms as the clamp compresses it to seal the joint, so once disturbed it usually won't reseal reliably. Fitting a fresh olive whenever the slip joint is separated is the normal way to avoid exhaust leaks.
Which Land Rovers does this exhaust olive fit?
This exhaust olive fits the Defender (1983-2006), Discovery 1 (1989-1998) and Range Rover Classic (1986-1994) on petrol and diesel exhaust systems. Use your VIN to confirm the exact joint on your vehicle.
