Exhaust O-Ring Gasket for the 3.5L V8 petrol engine, sealing the joint between the exhaust manifold and the downpipe.

This copper sealing ring locates at the manifold-to-downpipe flange and maintains a gas-tight seal as the joint expands and contracts under heat. It should be renewed whenever the downpipe is disturbed.

Frequently asked questions

What does the ERC2734 exhaust gasket do on a V8 Land Rover?
The ERC2734 is a copper sealing ring that seals the joint between the exhaust manifold and the downpipe on the 3.5L V8 petrol engine. It keeps the flange gas-tight as the joint expands and contracts under heat. Fitted to the Land Rover Defender, 1987 to 2006.
Where is the exhaust O-ring gasket located?
The exhaust gasket sits at the manifold-to-downpipe flange on the 3.5L V8, sealing where the downpipe bolts onto the exhaust manifold. It's part of the exhaust system and is one of the first things disturbed when the downpipe comes off.
Should the gasket be replaced every time the downpipe is removed?
Replace the gasket whenever the downpipe is disturbed. Once the copper ring has been compressed and heat-cycled it won't reseal reliably, so refitting an old one typically leads to an exhaust leak at the manifold joint.
