Exhaust Manifold Gasket for the 3.5L V8 petrol engine.

This gasket seals the joint between the exhaust manifold and the cylinder head, preventing exhaust gas leaks at the manifold-to-head face. It is fitted to both carburettor and EFI engine variants and is replaced when the manifold is removed or when exhaust blow is detected at the head face.

Frequently asked questions

What does the ERC3606 exhaust manifold gasket seal on a Land Rover V8?
The ERC3606 seals the joint between the exhaust manifold and cylinder head on the 3.5L V8 petrol engine. It prevents exhaust gas leaks at the manifold-to-head mating face. Fits carburettor and EFI V8 variants on Defender (from 1983), Discovery 1, Range Rover Classic, and Series III Stage 1.
How many exhaust manifold gaskets are needed for a full V8 manifold replacement?
The 3.5L V8 has two cylinder banks, each with its own exhaust manifold and gasket. A complete manifold replacement or reseal typically requires two gaskets, one per bank. Order two ERC3606 gaskets for a full reseal of both manifolds.
What are the signs the exhaust manifold gasket has blown on a Land Rover V8?
A blown exhaust manifold gasket on the 3.5L V8 typically causes a ticking or popping noise from the engine bay that worsens under load, a burning smell from the manifold area, and sometimes carbon deposits or discolouration on the cylinder head face around the manifold flange.
