Pinion Seal - Salisbury Axle seals the nose of the pinion shaft at the front of the Salisbury differential housing, where the propshaft coupling flange mounts to the pinion.

It retains the hypoid gear oil within the final drive and prevents leakage around the rotating pinion shaft. The seal is pressed into the front face of the differential housing and runs on the outer diameter of the pinion shaft.

This variant uses a leather sealing lip, the material originally specified for early Salisbury axles.
