Pinion Oil Seal - seals the drive pinion shaft where it enters the Salisbury rear differential.

Fitted at the nose of the differential housing, the seal runs against the pinion flange behind the propshaft coupling. It retains the axle oil within the differential and excludes water and road contamination from the pinion bearings. The Salisbury is the heavy-duty rear axle, so a pinion seal that leaks and allows oil loss can quickly starve the pinion head bearing.

Renew whenever the pinion flange or pinion nut is disturbed, and inspect the flange sealing surface for wear at the same time.
