Oil Seal - a felt seal for the outer end of the drive shaft hub. It sits at the outer hub-to-drive-shaft interface, wiping the shaft and excluding water, dirt and road debris while helping to retain lubricant within the hub.

The felt element bears against the rotating drive member to form a soft running seal, protecting the hub bearing and outer drive components from contamination in service.
