Brand AP Driveline
Brake Valve - a pressure reducing valve in the hydraulic brake circuit, controlling rear-circuit pressure to set the front-to-rear brake balance.

Mounted where the brake line divides between the front and rear axles, this passive hydraulic valve reduces the pressure delivered to the rear brakes under higher braking demand, biasing braking toward the front and guarding against rear-wheel lock-up. Fitted to non-ABS applications; the correct valve must be used to preserve the original brake balance.
Vehicle Model Land Rover Defender up to 2016
Fitment Notes DEFENDER 110/130 1986-2016 — AP brake valve 29 PRF 43, Less ABS. Fits 110/130 only (not 90). From VIN MA939976; 2007-2016 from VIN 7A000001

Frequently asked questions

What does the ANR1415 brake valve do?
The ANR1415 is an OEM AP Driveline pressure reducing valve (29 PRF 43) in the hydraulic brake circuit. Mounted where the brake line splits front to rear, it limits rear-brake pressure under heavier braking, biasing braking to the front and guarding against rear-wheel lock-up on non-ABS Defenders.
Which Defender does the ANR1415 brake valve fit?
The ANR1415 fits the Defender 110 and 130 without ABS, built 1986 to 2016. It does not fit the Defender 90. Fitment runs from VIN MA939976, and for 2007-2016 vehicles from VIN 7A000001. Check your VIN and that your Defender is non-ABS before ordering.
Why does the correct brake valve matter?
Using the correct 29 PRF 43 valve matters because it sets the front-to-rear brake balance. A wrong or failed valve can upset that balance, causing early rear lock-up or reduced braking. This OEM AP Driveline valve preserves the original pressure split on non-ABS Defender 110 and 130 models.
What are the signs this brake valve needs replacing?
A failing pressure reducing valve typically shows as rear brakes locking too early, a change in braking feel, or fluid leaking from the valve body. Since it controls brake balance on non-ABS Defender 110/130 models, replace it with the correct 29 PRF 43 valve if these symptoms appear.
