What is the ERC9116 plenum hose for?
The ERC9116 is a plenum chamber hose for the V8 EFI petrol engine. It is one of the rubber hoses on the plenum chamber that sits on top of the fuel-injected V8 intake, carrying air or vacuum on the induction side.
Where does it sit on the engine?
The hose connects to the plenum chamber on the top of the V8 EFI intake manifold. On these engines the plenum feeds the throttle body and injectors, so the hoses around it handle idle air and vacuum signals.
Why do these hoses need replacing?
Plenum hoses on the V8 EFI harden, crack and split with age and heat, which causes vacuum leaks, a rough or high idle and poor running. Renewing perished hoses is a common fix when chasing idle faults.
Which vehicles does it fit?
This fits the V8 EFI petrol engine in the Discovery 1 (1989-1998) and Range Rover Classic (1986-1994). Confirm you have the EFI injected V8 rather than the earlier carburettor engine.
