Aftermarket Part
Aftermarket: Quality alternative. This is a quality alternative, designed to fit and function like the original part, often at a more competitive price.
Oil Filter Rotor is the rotating element of the centrifugal oil filter on the Td5 2.5L 5-cylinder turbo diesel engine.

Mounted within the centrifugal filter housing, the rotor is spun at high speed by oil pressure; centrifugal force throws soot and contaminants outward against the rotor wall, where they are trapped while cleaned oil returns to the lubrication circuit. The rotor is a service-replacement item - renew it at the specified oil-change interval, fit a new sealing ring, and make sure the housing is clean so the rotor spins freely.

Frequently asked questions

What is the ERR6299 centrifugal oil filter rotor and what does it do?
The ERR6299 is the rotating element of the centrifugal oil filter on the Td5 2.5L 5-cylinder turbo diesel. Oil pressure spins the rotor at high speed, and centrifugal force throws soot and contaminants out against the rotor wall while clean oil returns to the engine.
When should the centrifugal oil filter rotor be replaced?
Replace the centrifugal oil filter rotor at each engine oil service. Fit a new sealing ring and make sure the housing is clean so the rotor spins freely. A clogged rotor that can't spin stops cleaning the oil properly.
Which vehicles use this oil filter rotor?
This centrifugal oil filter rotor fits the Defender (1998-2006) and Discovery 2 (1998-2004) with the 2.5L Td5 5-cylinder turbo diesel engine. It's specific to the Td5's centrifugal filter system.
