Mass Air Flow Sensor for the air intake system of the M47 Td4 2.0L four-cylinder turbo diesel.

The sensor sits in the intake tract downstream of the air filter housing and upstream of the turbocharger inlet, where it measures the mass of air drawn into the engine. The engine control module uses this signal to set fuelling quantity, boost control and exhaust gas recirculation rate.

A contaminated or drifting sensing element typically presents as reduced power, black smoke under load or an unstable idle. The element is not serviceable and the unit is replaced complete.

Frequently asked questions

What is the MHK101130 mass air flow sensor?
The MHK101130 is a mass air flow (MAF) sensor for the M47 Td4 2.0L four-cylinder turbo diesel in the Freelander 1. It sits in the intake tract and measures air drawn into the engine so the ECU can set fuelling and boost correctly.
Does this MAF sensor fit petrol Freelander 1 models?
This MAF sensor fits the Freelander 1 with the M47 Td4 2.0L diesel only, not the petrol variants. The Td4 engine management relies on this sensor for fuelling, so confirm your Freelander 1 is the Td4 diesel before ordering.
Where is the mass air flow sensor fitted?
The sensor mounts in the intake tract downstream of the air filter housing and upstream of the turbocharger inlet on the Td4 diesel. Reading air mass at that point lets the Freelander 1 ECU meter fuel and control boost accurately.
