Castle Nut - M12 castellated nut used on the steering and suspension ball-joint fixings.

Its slotted crown takes a split pin through the drilled hole in the joint's threaded stud, locking the nut so it cannot work loose. Used at the anti-roll bar drop-link ball joints, the track rod ends and the steering drop-arm ball joint.
