Shock Absorber Bush - Rear Upper is the mounting bush at the upper end of the rear shock absorber, where the damper attaches to its body mounting.

It isolates the damper from the mounting point, absorbing vibration and allowing the small angular movement of the shock absorber as the suspension travels. Supplied as a single bush.

Frequently asked questions

What does the rear upper shock absorber bush do?
This bush mounts the upper end of the rear shock absorber to its body mounting. It isolates the damper from the mounting point, soaking up vibration and allowing the small angular movement of the shock as the rear suspension travels.
How many bushes do I need for the rear shocks?
This is supplied as a single bush. Each rear shock upper mount typically takes one or two bushes depending on the setup, and they are usually renewed in pairs across both sides, so order enough for the axle rather than one bush.
Which Land Rovers use this rear upper shock bush?
This bush fits the Land Rover Defender (1987-2016), Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic (1986-1994) at the rear shock absorber upper mounting, across 90, 110 and 130 wheelbases. Confirm the mounting type on your vehicle.
What are the signs the shock bush has worn?
A worn rear upper shock bush typically shows as knocking or clonking from the rear over bumps, or a loose feel in the suspension. Perished rubber lets the damper move in its mount, so a fresh bush restores a tight mounting.
