Panhard Rod for the front axle, part of the live-axle suspension linkage.

The Panhard rod connects the axle to the chassis on one side and locates the axle laterally, holding it centred beneath the vehicle as the suspension moves through its travel. It works alongside the radius arms, which control fore-and-aft movement. Replace when the rod is bent or its bushes are worn, as lateral play allows the axle to shift and upsets steering and handling.
