Brake Pad Retention Kit - front brake pad retaining hardware for the disc brake assembly.

Secures the front brake pads in the caliper on installations using solid (non-vented) discs, for pads fitted with retaining eyes. Supplied without springs; where retaining springs are required, the companion kit is STC8576.

What does the RTC5001 brake pad retention kit include, and what's it used for?

The RTC5001 is the front brake pad retention kit for the disc brake calipers. It includes the retaining pins and clips that secure the friction pads in the caliper. It's designed for installations with solid (non-vented) front discs and pads fitted with retaining eyes, on Defender and Discovery 1.

Does the RTC5001 include retaining springs?

No. The RTC5001 supplies the retaining pins and clips only. Springs are sold separately. Check whether your caliper setup requires the spring kit in addition to this retention kit before ordering.

Does this retention kit fit all Defender and Discovery 1 variants?

On Defender, it fits 1986-2016 vehicles with non-vented (solid) front discs. On Discovery 1 (1989-1998), it applies from VIN MA081992. It doesn't fit variants with vented front discs, which use different caliper hardware.
