Track Rod Assembly - the front steering link that connects the steering arms on the two front swivel housings across the front axle.
It holds the front wheels in their correct parallel alignment (toe) and transmits steering movement between them, so both wheels turn together. The rod is threaded at each end so that front-wheel toe can be set during a steering alignment. A bent track rod, or play developing at its joints, causes imprecise steering, wandering and uneven tyre wear.
