Aftermarket Part
Aftermarket: Quality alternative. This is a quality alternative, designed to fit and function like the original part, often at a more competitive price.
Dislocation Cone for the rear coil-sprung suspension, supplied as a pair. The cones fit to the axle spring seat beneath each rear coil spring.

Under extreme axle articulation a coil spring can unseat from its perch. The cone gives the spring a tapered guide, so it lifts clear and then drops back onto its seat cleanly rather than jamming, kinking or being thrown off the perch. The galvanised finish resists corrosion in the exposed underbody location.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Dislocation Cone used for?
The Dislocation Cone fits to the rear axle spring seat beneath each coil spring on the Defender up to 2016. It guides a coil spring back onto its perch during extreme axle articulation, so the spring reseats cleanly instead of being thrown off.
Why do off-road Defenders need dislocation cones?
Under extreme axle articulation a rear coil spring can unseat from its perch. The tapered cone lets the spring lift clear and then drop back onto its seat cleanly, rather than jamming, kinking or being thrown off, which typically matters on heavily articulated off-road builds.
Are these dislocation cones sold as a pair?
Yes, the dislocation cones are supplied as a pair, one for each rear coil spring. They carry a galvanised finish to resist corrosion in the exposed underbody location where they sit on the axle spring seats.
