View full detailsThe Velar L560 has been produced with a wider engine range than most single-generation Land Rover models, and correct part fitment depends on knowing your engine code and model year. The pre-facelift range ran from 2017 to 2020 and included the Ingenium D180 and D240 four-cylinder diesels, the twin-turbo D300 and D275 V6 diesels, the P250 and P300 four-cylinder petrols, the P340 and P380 supercharged V6 petrols, and the limited SVAutobiography Dynamic with the 5.0-litre V8. From September 2020, the engine range was revised. The D200 replaced the D180 with mild hybrid assistance, the P400 Ingenium turbocharged inline-six replaced the P380 V6, and the P400e PHEV was introduced, combining a 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol unit with a 106 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor and a 17.1 kWh lithium-ion battery. A mild exterior and infotainment refresh was applied from 2023. Fitment differences exist between pre-facelift, post-September-2020, and post-2023 vehicles, particularly for engine ancillaries, emissions components, and hybrid system parts.
All four-cylinder variants use the ZF 8HP45 eight-speed automatic gearbox. All six-cylinder variants use the heavier-duty ZF 8HP70 unit. Gearbox-related parts must be matched to the correct variant.
Engine specifications and ZF 8HP transmission variant assignments confirmed against ZF Group 8HP-series technical data and JLR engine specifications as documented in the Range Rover Velar L560 launch technical record.
The Velar L560 shares its iQ[Al] D7a aluminium platform with the Jaguar F-Pace, Jaguar XF (X260), and Jaguar XE. This means a number of underbody, suspension geometry, and fastener components are shared across those vehicles. Workshops sourcing parts for the Velar may find that certain subframe components, suspension bushings, and general hardware are catalogued across both JLR and Jaguar parts systems. This does not apply to powertrain-specific or model-specific body parts. Always confirm part numbers against the Velar L560 catalogue before ordering on the basis of platform compatibility alone.
Fitment ConfirmationThe Velar L560's broad engine and drivetrain range means that year-of-manufacture alone is not sufficient to confirm fitment for many parts. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) contains the production sequence, engine code, and build specification and is the most reliable way to confirm the correct part for your vehicle. The VIN is located on the windscreen lower edge (driver's side on most LHD markets, passenger's side on RHD markets) and on the vehicle's identification plate in the engine bay. If you are unsure whether a listed part fits your specific Velar, contact Budget Parts with your VIN before ordering.

Technical GuidesThe following article from the Budget Parts technical library covers the Velar L560 platform, engines, and ownership considerations relevant to parts selection.

Range Rover Velar L560 guide →The Range Rover Velar L560 entered production in 2017 and is the only current generation of the Velar. A mild facelift was introduced in 2023, primarily affecting exterior styling and the infotainment system. A second-generation Velar on a new electric-only platform is announced for production from 2027 and is a separate vehicle entirely. Parts on this page cover the L560 generation only, from 2017 to present.
The engine code is stamped on the engine block and is also encoded in your VIN. For diesel variants, the main codes in service are D180 (2017 to 2020), D200 (2020 onwards, MHEV), D240 (2017 to 2020), D300 V6 (2017 to 2020), and D300 Ingenium inline-six (2020 onwards). For petrol variants, the main codes are P250, P300 (2017 to 2020), P340, P380 (2017 to 2020), P400 MHEV (2020 onwards), and P400e PHEV (2020 onwards). Engine-specific parts including timing components, injectors, and turbo ancillaries must be matched to the correct code.
Yes, in part. Both vehicles are built on the JLR iQ[Al] D7a aluminium platform, sharing the same wheelbase of 2,874 mm and common underbody architecture. This means certain suspension geometry components, subframe hardware, and general fasteners are shared across the catalogue. However, powertrain-specific parts, body panels, and model-specific electronics are not interchangeable. Workshops cross-referencing parts between the Velar and F-Pace should always verify against the Velar L560 part number before ordering.
All Velar L560 variants use a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. Four-cylinder engines (diesel and petrol) are paired with the ZF 8HP45 unit. Six-cylinder engines, including the P380, P400, D300 V6, and D300 I6, are paired with the heavier-duty ZF 8HP70 unit. Gearbox-related parts, including oil, filter kits, solenoids, and sensors, must be matched to the correct 8HP variant for your engine.
Genuine parts carry the official Land Rover part number and are manufactured to JLR specification. OEM parts are produced by the same manufacturer that supplied the component to JLR originally, meeting the same specification without the Land Rover branding. Aftermarket parts are independently manufactured and are suitable for wear items and general maintenance where exact OEM specification is not required. All three tiers are available through Budget Parts for the Velar L560.
Use your VIN. The 17-character VIN encodes your engine code, production year, and build specification and is the most reliable way to confirm fitment before ordering. The VIN is located on the lower edge of the windscreen (driver's side on most LHD markets, passenger's side on RHD markets) and on the identification plate in the engine bay. If you need help confirming fitment, contact Budget Parts with your VIN and the part reference you are considering.
Yes. The collection includes parts relevant to the P400e PHEV (introduced September 2020) and D200 and P400 MHEV variants. These include hybrid system ancillaries, AdBlue components for diesel MHEV variants, and Ingenium engine parts common to the hybrid-equipped models. Specific high-voltage battery components are not included in this collection. Contact Budget Parts if you are sourcing parts for a specific PHEV or MHEV repair and are unsure whether a listed part applies to your variant.
