Pignonlager (buitenste) voor het Salisbury-asdifferentieel. Het is het buitenste van het paar kegellagers dat het aandrijfpignon draagt, geplaatst het dichtst bij de pignonflens.

De twee pignonlagers positioneren het pignon tegen het kroonwiel en zijn ingesteld op een bepaalde voorspanning; het buitenste lager vangt de axiale kracht op die via de ingangsflens wordt aangevoerd.
