Frequently asked questions

What is this fuel cap used for?

This fuel cap is a genuine Land Rover filler cap that seals the fuel tank filler neck. It's listed for the extra fuel tank filler on Defender Station Wagons from 1987 to 2006, and suits Series models. It keeps fuel in and dirt out at the filler neck.

Which Land Rovers does this fuel cap fit?

This fuel cap is listed for the extra fuel tank filler on Defender Station Wagons built 1987 to 2006, and suits Land Rover Series models. Confirm your filler neck diameter and thread against the original before ordering, since Land Rover used several cap styles across models and tanks.

Where does this fuel cap fit on a Defender?

On a Defender Station Wagon this cap fits the extra fuel tank filler neck, sealing the second tank fitted to those models. On Series vehicles it seals the tank filler. It fits onto the filler neck to close the tank.

Is one fuel cap enough for my vehicle?

One fuel cap seals one filler neck, so a single tank needs one. A Defender Station Wagon with an extra tank uses a separate cap for each filler. Check how many tanks your vehicle has before ordering, and keep the sealing face clean for a good seal.
