Courtesy Light Switch is a door-actuated contact switch in the interior lighting circuit, mounted at the door pillar aperture.

When the door is opened the plunger extends and closes the circuit to ground, illuminating the courtesy lamp; closing the door depresses the plunger and breaks the circuit. It interfaces directly with the interior lighting harness and the associated lamp units.
