Frequently asked questions

What is the LYG101190 crankshaft pulley bolt used for?
The LYG101190 secures the crankshaft pulley and vibration damper to the nose of the Td5 crankshaft. It's a high-torque fastener that holds the pulley in place to drive the auxiliary belt system on Defender and Discovery 2 Td5 engines.
What is the tightening torque for the Td5 crankshaft pulley bolt?
The specified tightening torque for the LYG101190 is 460 Nm. Use a calibrated torque wrench and follow the workshop manual tightening procedure for correct and safe installation.
Should the crankshaft pulley bolt be replaced after removal?
Crankshaft pulley bolts on the Td5 are typically replaced rather than reused after removal. The very high torque loading means the fastener may have yielded. Fit a new LYG101190 each time the crankshaft pulley is removed to be sure of a secure installation.
