Heater Hose - Outlet returns engine coolant from the cabin heating circuit back to the engine cooling system after it has passed through the heater matrix.

On the 300 TDi 2.5L 4-cylinder turbo diesel, this is the return leg of the heater circuit; the companion feed is the inlet hose BTR9616. Moulded to suit the original routing and connection points.

Frequently asked questions

What does the BTR9617 heater hose do?
The BTR9617 is the outlet (return) heater hose, carrying coolant back from the heater matrix to the engine cooling system after it's passed through the cabin heater. It's the 300TDi 2.5L turbo diesel return leg fitted to the Range Rover Classic and Discovery 1, paired with the inlet feed hose.
How many hose clamps does fitting this heater hose need?
Fitting the BTR9617 typically needs two hose clamps in the 16-27mm range, one at each end. It's supplied as the hose alone, so fit sound or new clamps to keep the heater return joints leak-free.
Why do 300TDi heater return hoses need replacing?
300TDi heater return hoses usually fail when the rubber perishes or splits with age and heat, leaking coolant or reducing cabin heat. Renewing the outlet hose alongside the inlet feed restores the full heater circuit on the Range Rover Classic and Discovery 1.
