Intermediate Exhaust Pipe in stainless steel, forming the centre section of the Td5 exhaust system.

This is a straight-through link pipe fitted in place of the front (centre) silencer. Removing the silencer box reduces back-pressure through the mid-section and gives a slightly louder exhaust note. Suits the Td5 2.5L 5-cylinder turbo diesel.

Designed to pair with the matching rear silencer (DA3260).
Vehicle Model Land Rover Discovery 2 1998-2004 (L318)
Fitment Notes DISCOVERY 2 1998-2004 — Td5 only. Intermediate/utility link pipe (fitted to remove front silencer).

Frequently asked questions

What does the intermediate exhaust pipe do?
The intermediate exhaust pipe is the centre section of the Td5 exhaust on the Land Rover Discovery 2. It's a straight-through stainless link pipe that replaces the front centre silencer, lowering mid-section back-pressure and giving a slightly louder note. Suits the 2.5L Td5 five-cylinder turbo diesel.
Which Land Rover does this stainless pipe fit?
This stainless intermediate pipe fits the Land Rover Discovery 2 with the 2.5L Td5 turbo diesel. It replaces the front silencer section, so it's a direct fit in that position. The stainless construction resists the corrosion that kills mild-steel exhaust sections on these vehicles.
Will removing the centre silencer make the exhaust much louder?
Removing the centre silencer gives a slightly louder, deeper note rather than a dramatic increase, since the rear silencer still does most of the damping. The straight-through design mainly cuts back-pressure through the mid-section. Many Discovery 2 Td5 owners fit it for a modest tone change.
