Cellular Dynamic Shock Absorber A long-travel rear damper that controls axle movement within the suspension, mounted between the chassis and the rear axle.

It uses a cellular foam cell construction in place of a conventional gas charge, resisting oil aeration and fade under sustained or high-temperature use, with increased oil capacity for heat dispersion. Construction includes a sintered 18 mm rod, welded mounts and a single-piece eye ring; the bushings are polyurethane and the body is powder coated.

The damper provides approximately 50 mm of additional travel for long-travel suspension setups. Extended length 570 mm; compressed length 355 mm (±5 mm).

Frequently asked questions

What is the DC6014 shock absorber?
The DC6014 is a long-travel rear shock absorber for the Series Land Rover 109-inch long wheelbase, damping rear axle movement between chassis and axle. The foam cell design resists aeration and fade better than a conventional gas damper during heavy or sustained off-road work.
Which Land Rover does the DC6014 fit?
The DC6014 fits the Land Rover Series II, IIA and III 109-inch long wheelbase at the rear. It's the long-travel rear damper for the LWB chassis, designed for raised or long-travel suspension rather than standard ride height.
How many DC6014 shocks should I order?
Order two, one for each side of the rear axle on a 109-inch Series. Replacing rear dampers in a matched pair keeps damping balanced side to side, which is normal practice even if only one has worn out.
How do I know these rear shocks are worn?
Worn rear shocks usually show as fluid leaks down the body, a wallowing or bouncy rear, knocking over rough ground, or cupped tyre wear. On a long-wheelbase Series the rear works hard when laden, so failing dampers noticeably affect stability.
