Aftermarket Part
Aftermarket: Quality alternative. This is a quality alternative, designed to fit and function like the original part, often at a more competitive price.
Brake Vacuum Pump for the 300 TDi 2.5L turbo-diesel engine, mounted on the engine as part of the brake vacuum circuit.

Driven mechanically by the engine, it generates the negative pressure the brake servo requires for power-assisted braking. A diesel engine produces little usable manifold vacuum, so this pump supplies the servo directly, maintaining consistent assistance across all load conditions.

Supplied as a complete pump assembly.

Frequently asked questions

What does the brake vacuum pump do on a 300TDi?
The brake vacuum pump generates the vacuum the brake servo needs for power-assisted braking on the 2.5L 300TDi. A diesel makes little manifold vacuum, so this engine-driven pump supplies the servo directly to keep braking assistance consistent.
Does this pump come with a gasket?
Yes, it's supplied with the ERR2027 mounting gasket. Fit the gasket with sealant applied so the pump seals correctly to the engine. Renew the gasket rather than reusing the old one.
Which models does this vacuum pump fit?
Fits the 2.5L 300TDi in the Defender (1994-2006), Discovery 1 (from VIN MA081992) and Range Rover Classic (1992-1994, from VIN JA610294). Confirm with your VIN where a build cut-off applies.
What are the signs of a failing brake vacuum pump?
A failing pump usually shows as a hard brake pedal and loss of servo assistance, sometimes with oil leaking from the pump. On a diesel the brakes depend on this pump, so weak assistance needs prompt attention.
