Fuel Lift Pump for the low-pressure fuel supply circuit of the 2.5L 300TDi turbo diesel engine.

This engine-mounted mechanical diaphragm pump draws diesel from the tank and delivers it to the injection pump, operating downstream of the fuel filter and upstream of the injection pump to maintain a continuous fuel supply. It is driven by an eccentric on the engine and seals to its mounting face with gasket ERR2028.

Frequently asked questions

What does the ERR5057 fuel lift pump do?
The ERR5057 is a mechanical diaphragm fuel lift pump for the 2.5L 300TDi engine, drawing diesel from the tank and delivering it to the injection pump. It's engine-mounted and driven by an eccentric, working downstream of the fuel filter and upstream of the injection pump.
Does the fuel pump need a new gasket when fitted?
Yes, the ERR5057 lift pump seals to its mounting face with gasket ERR2028, which should be renewed whenever the pump is removed. Reusing an old gasket typically causes a fuel or oil leak from the pump mounting on the 300TDi. Fit the new gasket on refitting.
What are the signs of a failing fuel lift pump?
A failing fuel lift pump typically causes hard starting, power loss under load, or a stall on the 300TDi as fuel delivery to the injection pump drops. A split diaphragm can also leak fuel into the engine oil, so check for a rising oil level alongside fuelling problems.
