Frequently asked questions

What does the FRC3327 clutch clip do and where does it fit?
FRC3327 is a spring clip that secures the clutch slave cylinder push rod to the clutch operating lever (fork) inside the bellhousing. It keeps the push rod engaged through the full range of pedal travel on Defender, Discovery 1, Discovery 2, and Range Rover Classic clutch systems.
Should FRC3327 be renewed when the clutch system is disturbed?
Yes, renew this clip any time the clutch system is disturbed or the push rod is disconnected from the release lever. It's a low-cost item and should be treated as a single-use part to ensure the push rod stays properly engaged with the release fork after reassembly.
How many clutch clips are needed for a standard clutch replacement?
One FRC3327 is needed per vehicle. It sits at the single connection point between the slave cylinder push rod and the clutch release lever. Replace it as a matter of course during any clutch overhaul or slave cylinder replacement.
