EGR Cooler for the exhaust gas recirculation circuit of the 2.4L TDCi Puma diesel engine.
The cooler lowers the temperature of recirculated exhaust gas before it re-enters the intake, reducing peak combustion temperatures and NOx formation. Engine coolant is routed through the cooler body to draw heat from the exhaust gas passing through its internal core.
It sits between the EGR valve and the intake manifold, forming the interface between the emissions-control and engine-cooling systems. A blocked or leaking cooler is a common cause of coolant loss and rough running on this engine.
