Radiator Top Hose for V8 petrol applications, part of the engine cooling circuit.

The top hose carries hot coolant from the engine outlet to the top of the radiator, where heat is shed before the coolant returns to the engine. It is moulded to route around adjacent components and must withstand coolant temperature and system pressure. Replace when the hose is perished, cracked, swollen or leaking to maintain cooling system integrity.

Frequently asked questions

What is the NRC9710 radiator top hose and what does it do?
The NRC9710 radiator top hose carries hot coolant from the engine outlet to the top of the radiator on V8 petrol Defenders. It's moulded to route around nearby components and has to handle full coolant temperature and system pressure, as part of the engine cooling circuit.
What are the signs a radiator top hose needs replacing?
A radiator top hose typically needs replacing when it's perished, cracked, swollen or weeping coolant at the ends. The rubber goes soft or brittle with age and heat cycling. A failed top hose can dump coolant fast and cause the V8 to overheat, so replace it once it loses firmness.
Does this top hose fit all Defenders?
This top hose fits the V8 petrol Defender (1987-2006) only. Its moulded shape suits the V8 cooling layout, so it won't match the four-cylinder petrol or diesel engines, which route their coolant hoses differently. Confirm your engine is the V8 before ordering.
