Genuine Part
Genuine: Original manufacturer part. This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.
Coolant Hose for the engine cooling circuit, forming the return leg from the fuel cooler. On the 2.5L five-cylinder turbo-diesel (Td5), the fuel cooler uses engine coolant to draw heat out of the fuel returning to the tank; this hose carries the coolant back from the cooler into the cooling circuit, completing the loop.

The moulded hose is shaped to its run and secured by a clip at each end. A perished, swollen or split hose can weep coolant and interrupt the fuel-cooler circuit. Renew with the cooling system drained.

Frequently asked questions

What does the fuel cooler return coolant hose do?
This coolant hose forms the return leg from the fuel cooler back into the cooling circuit on the Defender Td5. The fuel cooler uses engine coolant to cool fuel returning to the tank, and this hose carries that coolant back to complete the loop.
What are the signs this coolant hose needs replacing?
A perished, swollen or split fuel cooler return hose typically weeps coolant and interrupts the fuel-cooler circuit on the Td5. Watch for coolant residue at the clips or a falling coolant level. Renew it with the cooling system drained.
Which vehicle does this hose fit?
This hose fits the Defender 1987-2006 with the 2.5 five-cylinder Td5 turbo diesel, forming the fuel cooler return leg in the cooling system. Confirm your engine is the Td5 diesel before ordering.
