Output Shaft Seal for the extension housing of the ZF 4-speed automatic gearbox.

The seal fits at the rear of the gearbox, where the output shaft passes through the extension (tail) housing to the drive flange. It runs against the shaft to retain automatic transmission fluid within the housing and to keep dirt and moisture out, preventing fluid loss at the gearbox-to-propshaft interface. It is renewed when the extension housing is disturbed or when a leak develops at the rear of the gearbox.
