Description:
Handbrake Cable for the parking brake system. It connects the handbrake lever to the parking brake mechanism, transmitting the lever movement that applies the brake.
On these vehicles the parking brake acts on a drum mounted at the rear of the transfer box (a transmission-mounted parking brake), and the cable runs from the lever to operate the brake actuating lever. Pulling the handbrake tensions the cable to apply the brake; releasing it allows the cable to slacken and the brake to release.
