Fuel Tank Outrigger - front right-hand chassis outrigger supporting the fuel tank on the short-wheelbase 88" chassis.

Welded to the chassis frame, the outrigger forms the bracket that carries the fuel tank and ties the tank area of the underbody into the main chassis rails. It is a common corrosion point on these vehicles and is normally replaced during chassis repair or full restoration.

What is the front fuel tank outrigger used for?

Is this the left or right outrigger, and how do I tell them apart?
