It wraps over the front axle and passes through a spring plate on the underside of the leaf spring, its threaded legs secured by nuts to clamp the spring firmly to the axle. Sized for the nine-leaf front spring.

SERIES II/IIA/III — 88" SWB PETROL, front, 9-leaf front spring, spring-to-axle U-bolt, to axle suffix C. Supplied singly: the 88" petrol front axle takes 3x 562637 plus 1x 562641, this being the flat one fitted where the casing widens to the differential. The 88" diesel and the 109" LWB take 569028 / 543108.
