Frequently asked questions

What is the fuel filler hose used for?

The fuel filler hose connects the body-mounted filler neck to the fuel tank inlet on the Defender, carrying fuel from the filler cap into the tank when you refuel. It forms part of the sealed filler and breather arrangement and is clamped at each end with hose clips.

How do I confirm this fuel filler hose fits my Defender?

This fuel filler hose fits the Defender up to VIN (V)AA259678 for the filler section and up to (V)MA962814 for the roll-over anti-spill system. Later vehicles use a revised filler arrangement, so check your VIN against these breaks before ordering.

What are the signs a fuel filler hose needs replacing?

A fuel filler hose usually needs replacing when the rubber perishes, cracks, or splits, which shows up as a fuel smell or fuel leaking during refuelling. Soft, swollen, or weeping hose ends near the clips are common on older Defenders and mean the hose is no longer sealing.
